									<div>Thoughts on lying...</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Stream of consciousness:</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Reflect on our discussion about lying this morning. If you didn't participate in the discussion, or had things to say but didn't get a chance to share, what kinds of thoughts would you like to contribute to the conversation? What questions do you want to ask?</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Some guiding questions are: What excuses do people give for lying, cheating, etc.? How valid are those excuses? e.g. I don't want to get in trouble, or I don't want to hurt their feelings, or I'm ashamed of the truth.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>What kinds of honesty do you most appreciate? e.g. Sincere honesty about quality of one's work, honesty about athletic abilities from a coach.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>What kinds of honesty do you especially dislike? e.g. Being lied to even though you saw the truth occur.</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>You will be graded on thoughtfulness and effort.&nbsp;</div><br>

<div>Please come up with five original laws that you think would be the foundation for a perfect new society. Ensure that the laws are written in positive language i.e. state what is allowed, not what is not allowed. For example, instead of saying "No Killing" you would say "Respect Life". For each law, write one or two sentences explaining why that law is necessary for a brand new society.</div><br>
